With this limited time (kena study, final tak habis lagi), I am gonna post something that might be good for you (dedicated to juniors of Optometry student), as I might forget about this later.
Semalam. Ya Allah, Aku dah exam final Optics.
And I really wanna share this terrible feelings!
Doing practices and INTENSIVE revision on Optics, was quite stressful yet fun. I gradually found love with the calculations. And I felt that I AM ready for the exam.
But everything did not go well.
Heart broken. Totally broken. Broken. Broken. Subhanallah, only Allah knows how sad and frustrated I am.
The major cause was time management. Poor time management leads to not having enough time, panic attack and blank.
3 hours given.
For
1) 30 Multiple Choice Questions - dalam 70% calculation,
2) 30 True False - concepts and less calculation
3) and 5 Essays, each with 2 parts- dalam 70% calculation. 1 part mainly 5 marks, but jalan kerjanya macam for 10 marks (can you imagine?).
Wrong strategy, I started to focus on the essays during the last 1 hour, which is sangat tak cukup.
If only I can rewind the time, I really should have focused on the essays first.
Because I found out that the information needed can be found in Loshin workbook and lecture note. (You'll know about Loshin if you are an Optometry Students in UITM).
I have done the practices. But need a proper emotion control. Kena tenang dan damai. So, semalam dah tak cukup masa, hmm faham-faham saja lah, panic dan tak dapat berfikir dengan waras, banyaklah yang lompang kosong tadiii,, ya Allah !
Untuk MCQ, more than 60% calculation and concepts. Juga ada dalam Loshin dan lecture note dan juga Keating. Tapi soalan dia tidak teratur mengikut chapter. So, agak susah sikit nak fikir, "ini kene guna formula manaa ye??" Dan soalan kat MCQ ini, formulanya macam terselit-selit ja kat lecture note. Macam tak penting pun. Tapi sebenarnya penting. Seolah-olah I have to act like seorang ahli optics yang tahu semua formula semasa masuk dewan exam tu.
True False.. True false question lah yang menjerat. Soalan conceptual. Salah faham kawan kata Sir kata kena jawab semua. Padahal jawab semua 123..30 not jawab semua abcde. Hmm. I answered all abcde. Habislah, wrong answer will be deducted........ Aku berserah kepada-MU, Ya Allah aku hanya minta lulus.
TIPS FOR JUNIORs. I just wanna help, tell me if what I am doing is wrong..
Tak mahu awak semua rasa macam apa yang saya rasa sekarang. Frust menunggeng. Study macam apa, guna 4 books as additional reference as well as internet, tapi time exam tak dapat nak all out, sebab tak cukup masa. Sedih, tapi tak apa lah. Semoga ilmu yang dapat itu kekal sampai bila-bila.
1) Part A (MCQ)
Calculation memang baaanyaaakk..
Formula ada yang ada dalam lecture note, ada yang tak ada. So, jangan buang yang kamu belajar masa asasi dan matriks.
Advised time to take : 45 minutes.
2) Part B (True False)
Concepts. Fahamkan. Ayat yang panjang-panjang dalam lecture note itu haruslah diambil peduli.
Jawab yang CONFIRM BETUL sahaja. Yang tak confirm, jangan dicuba.
Advised time : 45 minutes
3) Part C (Essay)
Mainly each question with 2 parts. Each part with 5 marks.
Kalau anda seorang yang biasa-biasa macam saya, anda akan rasa, banyaknyaa nak calculate... tapi markah ciput je. So, practice !
If only I aware about this earlier, I will collect 10 calculation questions and finish them within one hour ! So tak adalah masalah tak cukup masa time exam.
Advised time : 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Need a fresh, calm pace
Selepas apa yang terjadi. Saya advisekan adik-adik yang bakal menduduki exam OPT 402 supaya buat PART C> PART A> PART B.
I think you are lucky to find this, so, act.
Last tips :
Study for knowledge, not for papers.
But don't let the papers be the obstacles for you in the future.
Semua budak Opto pandai-pandai. Pointer itu, saya rasa hanyalah effort, bersama nasib yang baik. Kalau effort ada, tapi nasibnya tidak baik? Hmm.. Semua itu ketentuan Allah, ujian yang menjadikan hati kita kuat dan kental.
